product care
Remove your tights and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Great fit . . and great sun protection

"💕💕"

— MARY C. (5/5)

Sun coverage for warm weather

"I recently bought these tights because I needed a tight that would protect me from sun exposure but not be too hot in warmer weather. This tight fits wonderfully, feels supportive and has an extremely comfortable saddle. I am considering purchasing another pair."

— Marsha I. (5/5)

Summer bike pants

"Love them. Only wish they had a side pocket for my phone."

— Dawn D. (5/5)

Not a good replacement for the old Echelon tights

"I have worn the Soleil jerseys since they came out and like them very much. I rode in the tights for the first time today; it was about 70 degrees. The tights are MUCH warmer than the old Echelon tights - which I've worn for the past ten years in north Florida heat and humidity (100 degrees and almost as much humidity). The material of the tights is nothing like that of the jerseys. I also found the narrow elastic at the top of the waistband to be very uncomfortable."

Great long bike tight for

Fit as expected. Ordered XL.

"Fit as expected. Ordered XL. Weight 168 and 63” tall. Will be wearing to supplement my other Terry Soleil tights this summer, Keeping them."

— mary w. (5/5)

Terry is the greatest!

"I am a total Terry cyclist, and love my Soleil jerseys. I recently bought the Terry Soleil tights. The fit is good and similar to my other Terry cycling bottoms. They were cool and comfortable on recent spring rides (80 degrees). I look forward to wearing them on the hot summer days ahead."

— Susan K. (5/5)

Terry's tights have always fit

"Terry's tights have always fit me in a medium. These I ordered as a medium and they are tight, almost binding in the knee area when biking. I ordered 2 pairs but will probably return the unopened one."

— Sheila T. (5/5)

Soleil tight

"Since Stowe, VT, is under a foot of snow I have not had a chance to try them. However, I will be testing them in Tuscany in May😁"

— Diana D. (5/5)

Very good yet a bit loose in waist

"I like the fabric and feel of the tight. I live in Florida and needed a tight for the cooler weather during the winter. I also wanted compression for my varicose veins and sun protection. The tights only have light compression so they are very comfortable. I am 5'3' and 115 pounds and have thick thighs. The tights are not too tight but a bit loose in the waist, where the padding tends to slide down a bit. I have been tucking in a shirt to see if that will help."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Soleil Bike Tight is built specifically for warm-weather cycling. Made from a sleek stretch Italian performance fabric, it delivers full UPF 50+ coverage in a lightweight package rather than insulation. If you want full leg coverage on hot, sunny rides without the heat of a thermal layer, the Soleil Bike Tight is designed for exactly that. Riders looking for a brushed interior or thermal fleece for genuinely cold conditions should look to another tight in Terry's lineup, since the Soleil Bike Tight offers no insulation.

The Soleil Bike Tight offers full UPF 50+ coverage across the whole leg, making it a purpose-built sun-protection layer for warm-weather cycling. For riders who spend long days in strong sun and want reliable protection without constantly reapplying sunscreen to their legs, the Soleil Bike Tight solves that tradeoff. It's effectively the full-length counterpart to Terry's Soleil tops, extending consistent UV coverage down the leg while staying lightweight enough that you won't overheat on warm rides.

The Soleil Bike Tight includes Terry's Fleet Air Chamois, so it functions as a standalone tight rather than a layering piece worn over shorts. The Fleet Air Chamois is a seamless chamois with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology and multi-level foam padding, perforated for ventilation and finished with Terry's signature soft-wing construction to reduce bulk at the inner thigh. That means you get full warm-weather leg coverage and saddle comfort in one garment, without needing to layer the Soleil Bike Tight over a separate pair of shorts.

The Soleil Bike Tight uses a simple elastic-free hem, meaning there's no gripper leg band at the ankle. This gives it a clean, non-binding feel next to the skin, which many riders prefer in warm weather. If you specifically want a gripper band to lock the hem in place at the ankle, the Soleil Bike Tight won't deliver that, so check the leg band details on other tights in Terry's range before buying. Riders who like a relaxed, unrestricted hem tend to appreciate the Soleil Bike Tight's approach.

The Soleil Bike Tight offers moderate compression, which suits its role as a lightweight warm-weather sun-protection tight rather than a high-compression race piece. For riders who want full leg coverage with a smooth, supportive feel but no squeeze of a performance race fit, moderate compression hits a comfortable middle ground. Combined with the extra-wide comfort waist and elastic-free hem, the Soleil Bike Tight is designed to stay non-binding over regular and longer warm-weather rides.

The Soleil Bike Tight is a warm-weather, lightweight tight with no insulation, so it isn't the right pick once temperatures drop. If most of your riding happens in cool conditions and you still want a chamois built in, the Coolweather Tour Bike Tight is a better match, offering moderate insulation for fall and spring plus a touring chamois for longer rides. Choose the Soleil Bike Tight when sun protection and warm-weather comfort are the priority, and step up to a cool-weather tight when the temperature falls.

The Soleil Bike Tight has a fitted, next-to-skin cycling-tight silhouette with moderate compression and an included chamois, so it reads clearly as performance cycling apparel. If you want full leg coverage in a more casual, relaxed shape that doesn't look like a race tight, the Vista Trail Pant is a better fit for that aesthetic. Riders who are comfortable in a sleek, body-skimming cycling look and want UPF 50+ sun protection tend to find the Soleil Bike Tight exactly what they're after.

The Soleil Bike Tight is best for riders who want full leg sun protection on warm-weather rides without the sunscreen-versus-coverage tradeoff. With full UPF 50+ coverage, lightweight Italian performance fabric, moderate compression, and Terry's Fleet Air Chamois built in, it serves riders who want an all-in-one warm-weather tight rather than layering pieces. It's also designed and sewn in the USA at a green energy-certified facility. Riders who prioritize UV protection, a non-binding fit, and saddle comfort on hot rides are the core audience for the Soleil Bike Tight.
