Designed for Women since 1985

We are on a mission to get more women riding bicycles—comfortably, safely and beautifully.

For over 40 years, we've been disrupting the bicycle industry, designing innovative bikes, saddles, apparel and accessories that fit mobilized women who believe their wheels are their wings and that pure performance and feminine style can ride in tandem. We are 100% dedicated to making cycling a more comfortable experience for all women.

As cyclists, we're part of an illustrious sisterhood of athletes and adventurers. We ride through wind and rain. We sweat. We dream. We discover. We push ourselves to and past our limits. We take each day and ride it to its fullest. We're refugees from the corporate world joined together by a love for cycling and life balance.

Questions & Answers

Terry was founded in 1985 by Georgena Terry, a mechanical engineer who couldn't find a bicycle that fit her own body. Rather than wait for the industry to solve the problem, she built her own bike, then built a company around the idea that women deserve gear designed for them from the start, not adapted from men's designs.

Terry has spent 40 years asking what women need to ride comfortably and perform at their best, starting with the bicycle itself. Its founding innovation was bike geometry and proportions built specifically for women's bodies, rather than a resized men's frame. That same thinking led to the 1992 Women's Sport saddle, solving a problem standard saddles never addressed, and carries through today into shorts, jerseys, and other apparel engineered around women's fit, coverage, and comfort preferences, so performance and comfort don't have to be a trade-off.

Georgena sold the company in 2010 to Liz Robert, a Vermont-based CEO and entrepreneur, who led Terry's next phase of growth. Georgena then returned to her original craft, hand-building custom bicycles, work she continues today. Her original design philosophy — building for women's bodies from the ground up — remains central to everything Terry makes.

Terry was acquired by Flagg Bicycle Group in 2021, joining Flagg's cycling-focused portfolio as one of its key direct-to-consumer brands. Terry continues to operate independently as Terry Precision Cycling, LLC. Liz Robert, who led the company's earlier growth, remains involved, and Nik Holm now leads Terry as CEO.

Many Terry items are USA-sewn at a green-certified facility, since materials themselves are sourced from several countries. Terry also works with manufacturing partners overseas, including in China, Vietnam, Taiwan, El Salvador, and Honduras, reflecting the global nature of modern apparel and equipment production. Saddles are made in Italy and Taiwan.

Terry partners with NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association), supporting the next generation of young cyclists, alongside sponsorships of local and women-focused cycling events and programs.

Yes. Georgena Terry received the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition's Pioneering Woman award, Terry was recognized by the MoMA Design Store in 2021, and Georgena was inducted into the Bicycle Hall of Fame in 2025, the same year Terry marked 40 years of designing specifically for women cyclists.
