Made of a recycled stretch woven polyester, the Rover has an easy-fit, printed mesh waistband, and 2 front zippered pockets to secure essentials. why why why are biking clothes made so small

"The fabric is nice, the liner seems adequate. My main complaint is that Terry Cycling does not have inclusive sizing. Yes, I'm aware that you have a very very limited number of styles in extended sizes. My experience, however, is that your sizing measurements are much smaller than what I normally wear. I'm 5'10" tall. I am smaller on top (size 12/14) and usually a size 16 on bottom. Terry sizing is about 2 sizes difference than my usual clothing suppliers. I usually wear an XL and this size fits correctly. In Terry world an XXL fits very snuggly. YOUR SIZING IS RIDICULOUSLY OUTSIDE OF "NORMS. " Please extend your availability in sizes or accurately size your clothing."

Great if you have no curves

"Made for curvy girls. Wish I could return them but I was desperate for a liner so I had to wear the one that came with the shorts which will go in the trash…. . unfortunately."

Rover bike short

"Fit is perfect and I like the length!"

Weird design but comfortable on the ride

"I have been wearing Terry's Liberty bike short for years (and still using), so I was expecting something similar from the images. The Rover shorts are supposed to be the same length as the Liberty shorts but they're definitely longer, they are also much wider - I feel like I am wearing a skirt when I'm walking around. What I don't like is the waistband - it is very high and the ruched design was quite irritating to the skin - I had to pull up the liner as high as possible to protect my skin from the roughness of the pant band. Having said all that, they ended up being comfortable (with my liner adjustment) and cool on the ride (2 hour blue/black Moab, UT singletrack). I wouldn't buy them again, I'll stick to the Liberty short."

Nice short. Confusing color name.

"The shorts are very nice, just as advertised. Marketing Dept should change the color name. "Black Iris" is misleading since this is actually BLUE. I was very confused between buying this color and Black. It wasn't until I phone in my order that I got clarification."

Sooooo comfy

"Sooooo comfy"

All day fun

"Waist band is wide and comfortable but tight so it doesn't fall. Short length is longer than usual but comfortable for riding in."

— Rita P. (5/5)

PERFECT

"I was forced to stop riding after the Covid virus affected my right lower leg. I have no sensation whatsoever but I did sign up for a spin class and these are perfect !"

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Terry Rover Bike Short is sold without a padded liner, so you'll need to add a separate liner for riding. This is the key thing to know before buying. Terry offers several padded liners in different chamois grades, letting you match the support to your riding. Off the bike, the Rover works perfectly without a liner for hiking, errands, or truffle hunting on a bike tour. This liner-optional approach is deliberate: one short, two modes, and your choice of padding.

If most of your discomfort comes from being seen in fitted cycling clothing, the Terry Rover Bike Short was designed with exactly that in mind. It moves and looks like regular athletic shorts rather than race kit, with a relaxed baggy silhouette and generous coverage that eliminates the lycra self-consciousness many riders feel. Whether the hesitation is about body image, modesty, or simply not wanting to look like a cyclist, the Rover offers a more approachable way to ride while still functioning fully when paired with a liner.

The Terry Rover Bike Short offers among the most coverage in Terry's women's short lineup, with a 13-inch inseam that provides full thigh coverage. Riders who feel exposed in traditional cycling shorts often find this the deciding factor. The extra length doesn't restrict movement thanks to diamond gusseting through the crotch, which keeps you mobile on the bike. If more coverage is your primary concern, the Rover addresses it directly while keeping a comfortable, non-revealing everyday silhouette.

Yes — worn without a liner, the Terry Rover Bike Short looks and functions like regular athletic shorts, with nothing that reads as cycling gear. Two front zippered pockets secure your essentials, making it practical for trailheads, cafes, and casual errands. Made of a recycled stretch woven polyester with an easy-fit printed mesh waistband, it pulls on easily and transitions effortlessly from ride to everyday. This versatility is the point: one short covers both your cycling and your off-bike life.

The Terry Rover Bike Short suits mountain biking and adventure-style riding such as gravel. It is a longer-length, pull-on short made of recycled stretch woven polyester, and it has been tested on the singletrack of Montana. The generous 13-inch inseam gives excellent coverage without inhibiting mobility thanks to diamond gusseting through the crotch. Pair it with a liner of your choice for the padding and support your rides call for.

If you expect a built-in chamois, the Terry Rover Bike Short may not be the right pick, since it's sold without one and requires a separate liner. Riders focused on road racing or aero performance are better served by a Performance Short like the Bella Bike Short or Breakaway Bike Short, which include chamois and a race-oriented fit. And if you prefer minimal fabric and bulk over a baggy silhouette, a fitted option like the Actif Bike Short will feel closer to what you want.

Both are the same baggy short with a 13-inch inseam, full coverage, and zippered pockets. The difference is padding: the Terry Rover Bike Short is sold without a liner, while the Rover Bike Short with Liner includes Terry's Universal Liner in the box. Choose the unpadded Rover if you already own a liner or want to select your own chamois grade from Terry's options. Choose the bundled version if you'd rather have a ready-to-ride setup in a single purchase without sourcing a liner separately.

The Terry Rover Bike Short is built around a baggy, non-kit aesthetic. If you find you'd prefer a fitted everyday short with a built-in chamois and less fabric, that's a shift toward the Fitness Short category — start with the Actif Bike Short. If your rides grow longer or harder and you want higher chamois support in a fitted short, look to a Performance Short like the Bella Bike Short. Both moves make sense when your priority changes from coverage and casual styling to fit and integrated support.

The Terry Rover Bike Short is made of recycled stretch woven polyester with a printed mesh waistband and zippered pockets. Wash it in cold water and hang or lay it flat to dry to protect the stretch fibers and mesh detailing over time. If you're riding with one of Terry's separate liners, launder the liner after each ride to keep the chamois fresh, while the Rover shell itself can be washed less frequently. Gentle care preserves both the fabric's recovery and the printed waistband.
