Reviews

Just what I wanted

"I haven't had a chance to wear this cycling yet, but it seems quite waterproof. Love the color and the fit. (I'm 5'6", 130, 34 bust and it fits perfectly). Hood fits nicely under bike helmet. Looking forward to seeing how it does on the road."

— Genevieve A. (5/5)

Bike rain jacket

"I am a little disappointed in the material of the jacket but have not yet used it in the rain. I like the venting system. The material is really stiff and I do not love it for the price."

— Deborah W. (5/5)

Fits with some room. Got

"Fits with some room. Got the yellow/green which will be visible on the road. Have not had a chance to try it yet— we just got over a foot of snow— but all my other SP jacket have been reliable and stellar. Looking forward to getting out on the bike."

— Barbara M. (5/5)

Beautiful Color

"Love the color and the fit! Will be a perfect jacket for layering."

— Cynthia M. (5/5)

Fits Nicely

"Fits petite frame with ample bustline. Wish hood could be removed when not in use, but otherwise great rain jacket. Yellow color has a green hue to it, so it's visible but not obnoxious."

— Sarah S. (5/5)

Ride on!

"I love how this jacket looks and how it fits! Love the color! The picture online doesn't do it justice. I was very impressed with how quickly my order for this jacket was processed, from the time I first placed my order, to the time I received it. Even better, I received this jacket as a Christmas present from my husband! I'd highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a bike jacket."

— Susan F. (5/5)

This jacket is perfect! Just

"This jacket is perfect! Just used it on a bike ride and it kept the wind from making me cold. I had a ligjt weight thermal jacket underneath and I was very comfortable. Love it!!!"

— Mary B. (5/5)

Yes- works in big rain

"I ordered the Syncline CC Bike jacket for biking. I needed another lightweight rain jacket to stuff behind my bike seat, and initially thought it seemed a little bulky to carry. Plus I did not need a hood for windy days. But I kept it and wore it yesterday on the Copper Triangle ride. Rain and hail started 1 hour in- starting temp was in the 40's- and continued. My shorts, shoes and socks were soaked and I was shivering, but this jacket worked big time. I pulled the hood up over my hat, which kept my neck warm, with the helmet on top-- my core stayed warm and dry, which allowed me to keep going. There were no constricting areas. It's a great jacket- when the chips are down, this jacket will be your friend. It is staying behind my bike seat."

— Jan T. (5/5)

Cover your bum

"The fit is true to size; I'm replacing one that was lost. I wear this every ride unless it's stinking hot because the color is so visible. This is a tough jacket that is windproof, waterproof, and long enough to cover your bum!"

— Suzanne B. (5/5)

Syncline CC Jacket

"Nice weight and good color. Runs smallish. XL is a little tight and wish you had it in Plus Sizing."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass is a genuine hardshell rain jacket, not a light water-repellent shell. It uses a fully seam-taped ARTEX 2.5-layer waterproof and breathable fabric, which means the seams are sealed against water penetration and the whole garment is built to handle sustained rain. If your rides regularly involve steady, prolonged precipitation rather than the occasional passing shower, the Syncline CC is designed to keep you genuinely dry through the exposure.

The Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass suits riders who face sustained rain and want one shell that works across multiple activities. It's built for biking, hiking, and camping in wet conditions, so it handles prolonged outdoor exposure rather than just a quick commute shower. Its fully seam-taped ARTEX waterproof fabric and core venting make it a strong choice for riders who stay out in genuinely wet weather and want reliable protection across the day rather than a shell they'll only wear for brief drizzle.

Yes, the Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass includes an adjustable hood sized to fit under a helmet, which is a feature not every rain jacket offers. For riders who want hood coverage in heavy rain without removing or fighting their helmet, this matters a lot. If you prefer riding without a hood, it's worth knowing this jacket is built with one, since that's a genuine preference some riders feel strongly about either way when choosing wet-weather outerwear.

The Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass is designed to work over a hydration pack or backpack, which affects how you should think about fit. Its forward-positioned cross-core vents are placed specifically to release heat and prevent overheating even while you're carrying a pack. This makes the Syncline CC a practical choice for longer rides, bikepacking, or multi-activity days where you're hauling gear and need ventilation that keeps working regardless of what's strapped to your back.

A fully waterproof shell can trap heat on harder efforts, so the Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass adds forward-positioned cross-core vents to release warmth as you work. These vents are placed to keep venting effectively even while you're wearing a hydration pack or backpack. For riders pushing longer or more intense efforts in the rain, this means the Syncline CC stays breathable and comfortable rather than clammy, balancing genuine waterproof protection with the airflow a hard ride demands.

The Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass is designed as a multi-activity rain shell, not a bike-only piece. It's built for biking, hiking, and camping in the rain, which means it's made to handle prolonged outdoor exposure across different activities. If you want one waterproof layer that moves with you from the saddle to the trail to a wet campsite, the Syncline CC earns its place as versatile foul-weather protection rather than a single-purpose cycling jacket.

If most of your riding is in warm, dry conditions, the Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass is more jacket than you need. It's a full hardshell built for sustained rain and prolonged wet exposure, which makes it heavier and less airy than fair-weather layers. Riders chasing temperature variability without real rain are usually better served by a lighter wind layer. The Syncline CC earns its place when genuine, lasting waterproofing is the priority, not for dry-weather rides where its hardshell construction would be overkill.

The Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass is a full hardshell, which trades packability for durable, sustained-rain protection. If your priority is a lighter shell you can stuff away and pull out for shorter wet stretches, that's a different need, and the Cloudburst Bike Jacket is the better match for riders who want minimal pack weight over maximum hardshell protection. Choose the Syncline CC when prolonged waterproofing matters more than packing small, and the Cloudburst when weight and compactness come first.

The Syncline CC Bike Jacket from Showers Pass uses a fully seam-taped ARTEX 2.5-layer waterproof breathable fabric rather than GORE-TEX. Both aim for genuine waterproofing, but if you specifically want GORE-TEX membrane construction, the Tempesta Lite Bike Jacket is the better fit for that requirement. Choose the Syncline CC if you want a proven hardshell built for multi-activity rain use with helmet-compatible hood and pack-friendly venting, and look to the Tempesta Lite when GORE-TEX is a non-negotiable part of your decision.
