Chamois
Flex Air Tour Chamois:
Unique to Terry, the Flex Air chamois line offers the best shape and construction for women. The Flex Air Tour takes comfort up a notch with 14 percent more foam for endurance riding. Seamless chamois with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology provides freedom of movement on the saddle; multi-level foam padding is perforated for increased breathability; light, channeled microfiber fabric in Terry pink is antimicrobial and enhances moisture transfer; soft wing construction reduces bulk at inner thigh to avoid chafing. Chamois is made in Italy.

Compare all chamois choices.
product care
Remove your knickers and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

Perfect

"Perfect fit, flattering look, excellent padding Size small 5”3” 115"

— Adrianna W. (5/5)

fits well, pad is great.

"fits well, pad is great. I like these"

— Linda C. (5/5)

great knickers

"like these pants very much. I tried four others and these are by far the most flattering and comfortable. 5'5. 138 pounds ,medium is good"

— Carol S. (5/5)

Not enough cushion and don’t love fabric feel

"I haven’t had a chance to test ride them yet but I don’t like the feel of the fabric which feels like uncomfortable polyester. I generally prefer a smoother feeling fabric on my skin. I’m guessing it’s because of wicking properties? Also, the cushion is not enough for me. It’s much less than a pair of Novara bike capris that I own that is no longer being made and which I liked. I need more cushion than what is on these. Maybe I would like them more if Terry offered them with their max cushion, although it would have to be double he amount of cushion to match my novara capris."

— Debby H. (3/5)

Bike knicker

"Been wearing this model knicker for years with great pad and feel."

— Charleen G. (5/5)

Perfect fit

"I love the fabric, the length of these capris (I’m 5. 0”), and the flattering fit."

— Mary E. (5/5)

Nice but short

"I’m 5’6” 110lbs, long legs short body. Bought a S, it fits around wise but is too short, the leg bottom hits just below mid knee, I’d prefer it to be below the knee. A M might work better but I’m not up for dealing with shipping back and forth right now. Returning these but may try again in the future."

— Helen H. (3/5)

Bike knicker

"I like the material which is a mild comfortable compression. I like the little zipper pocket for my key and that it doesn’t have a hip pocket for the phone which I don’t want. After having melanoma on my thigh I like that it goes just below the knee for more coverage."

— Julie F. (5/5)

Second skin

"I put them on and said "wow, these really fit!" They feel like a second skin, not too tight, not too loose. Even after the end of my first ride in them, they feel just right."

— Randi B. (5/5)

Great fit, super functional

"Though not as many features as the Grant Tour knickers, these fit MUCH better. I've already worn them in a 50+ mile ride and was quite comfortable. I'm 5'1", 100 lbs and size XS works great."

— Lori M. (5/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Terry Bike Knicker is for riders who want more leg coverage than a short provides without the heat of a full tight. Its 17 inch inseam falls just below the knee, striking the classic knicker compromise that makes it one of Terry's go-to all-season bottoms. This matters in shoulder-season riding and on cooler mornings, when a short feels too exposed but tights trap too much heat. The result is comfortable coverage across a wide temperature range rather than a single-season garment.

The Terry Bike Knicker is built explicitly for touring and all-day comfort. It uses Terry's Flex Air Tour chamois, which adds 14 percent more foam than the standard Flex Air for endurance riding, with seamless construction and 4-way stretch for freedom on the saddle. The quick-drying tri-blend fabric was developed to keep you dry, comfortable and supported all day. For riders logging long distances or multi-day touring who want below-the-knee coverage, the Bike Knicker earns its place as a dependable touring-grade bottom.

The Terry Bike Knicker has a 17 inch inseam that falls just below the knee — the classic knicker length. If you're picturing mid-calf coverage, this isn't the right pick. Riders who want capri-length coverage down toward the calf should look instead at the Hi Rise Holster Bike Capri, which also adds an ultra-wide high-rise waist and deep mesh hip pockets. Knowing where the hem lands before you buy avoids the most common surprise with the Bike Knicker.

The Terry Bike Knicker is available in plus sizes, reflecting Terry's decades of women-specific fit work across a full range of bodies. That matters because knicker length and chamois comfort only work when the fit is right through the hip, thigh, and waist. The moderately compressive tri-blend fabric supports without squeezing, and the women's-specific Flex Air Tour chamois is unique to Terry and shaped for women. Plus-size riders get the same touring-grade comfort as the rest of the size range.

The Flex Air Tour chamois in the Terry Bike Knicker is a step up in padding from the standard Flex Air, with 14 percent more foam for endurance riding. It's a seamless, women's-specific chamois with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology for freedom of movement, multi-level foam that's perforated for breathability, and soft wing construction that reduces bulk at the inner thigh to avoid chafing. For riders putting in long saddle time, this touring-grade padding is what keeps longer rides comfortable rather than something you have to tolerate.

The Terry Bike Knicker offers moderate compression through its 64 percent nylon, 21 percent polyester, 15 percent spandex tri-blend fabric. It supports the muscles and stays put without the maximum-compression squeeze of a performance race fit. This suits riders who want all-day support and a comfortable, quick-drying feel over a tight competitive fit. If you specifically want firmer, higher compression in a knicker, the Bella Prima Bike Knicker with its French nylon compression fabric would be a better match for that preference.

The Terry Bike Knicker suits all-season and touring riders who want moderate compression and below-the-knee coverage. If you're a performance-oriented rider who wants the highest chamois tier and firmer compression, the Bella Prima Bike Knicker with its Flex Air Carbon chamois is a better fit. If you want touring pockets alongside even more padding, consider the Grand Tour Bike Knicker. And if hot-weather ventilation with minimal coverage is your priority, a performance short like the Breakaway Bike Short will serve you better than a knicker.

The Terry Bike Knicker is designed for all-season riding, not just cool weather. It offers more coverage than shorts and less heat than tights, which makes it as useful for summer riders who want sun protection on longer rides as for shoulder-season mornings. The quick-drying tri-blend fabric helps it breathe across a wide temperature range. Riders who want leg coverage year-round, for any reason, tend to find the Bike Knicker more versatile than a season-specific bottom.

Choose the Terry Bike Knicker when you want below-the-knee leg coverage rather than the exposed thigh of a short — whether for sun protection, cooler conditions, or personal preference. It pairs that coverage with the touring-grade Flex Air Tour chamois and a quick-drying tri-blend fabric developed to keep you supported all day. It's proudly designed and sewn in the USA. If you decide you'd rather have short length with a comparable chamois, Terry's performance shorts cover that; the Bike Knicker is the choice when leg coverage is the point.
