product care
Remove your liners and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Reviews

This is a good quality

"This is a good quality liner and it did fit, just not in way I liked. The waistband was too loose and the leg bands created a sausage look. After trying it on, I decided a preferred a little more compression, which this doesn't really have."

— Charlotte H. (5/5)

Economical option for biking shorts

"I needed a second pair of biking shorts for a weekend biking trip, however I rarely have a need for 2 pairs other than this trip. Buying the liner was a perfect solution, as I have plenty of regular shorts I wear comfortably for rides where I live. As prior reviews stated, the shorts do run a little large so if you want a tighter fit, I suggest buying 1 size smaller."

— Lori M. (5/5)

Chamois doesnt fit right.

"I was so happy to find bike shorts in my size! But the chamois is not fitting as it should. It is too far forward resulting in none of the padding covering my sit bones. Will be returning."

— Suzanne M. (2/5)

Made the difference

"Do order one size smaller."

— Debby O. (5/5)

Great under garment shorts.

"I'll be able to wear these under many skirts and fleece pants that do not have a padded seat . Very excited to add this to my bike attire."

— Suzy H. (5/5)

Padding included

"Very Comfortable and lightweight. You may want to size down. I have the 3x and they are a little baggy."

— Elishia (5/5)

Really uncomfortable - returned

"Don't buy - very uncomfortable. Center crease went right up where you don't want clothing to go - unless you like the feeling of thong underwear. Returned for refund"

— Elizabeth K. (1/5)

Sizing odd and materials

"Sizing odd and materials"

— Ilyse S. (2/5)

Based on the reviews I

"Based on the reviews I bought a whole size smaller than what is indicated by my measurements. They still ended up being to big. I returned them. If they had fit I'm sure I would have loved them. The quality of material was very nice. Too bad they were so big!"

— Simone C. (1/5)

Wore them under my pants

"Wore them under my pants on our recent trip in Key west. They were comfortable and will wear them again."

— Dawn V. (5/5)

Questions & Answers

The Universal Bike Liner Plus is built exactly for this. It's a padded layer designed to be worn under skirts, dresses, or any pair of unpadded shorts, instantly converting your everyday streetwear into bikewear. Rather than replacing your clothing with a fitted cycling short, it adds chamois comfort underneath what you already wear. This makes it a natural fit for riders who want to stay in their regular plus-size clothing while gaining real padding for the saddle on casual rides.

Yes. The Universal Bike Liner Plus is the plus-size version of Terry's Universal Bike Liner, built on the same Urban chamois and the same mid-length inseam. If you're looking for chamois comfort in a plus-size fit to wear under your own clothing, this is the garment to choose. Riders who need standard, non-plus sizing should instead look at the Universal Bike Liner, which offers the same construction and chamois in Terry's standard size range.

The Universal Bike Liner Plus is outfitted with Terry's Urban chamois, which is tuned for casual rides of about one to two hours. It's a compact, low-bulk pad shaped for shorter outings rather than extended distances. If most of your riding is commuting, errands, or relaxed rides of a couple hours, it's well matched. Riders who regularly ride multiple hours and want a more substantial chamois tend to be better served by the Aria Liner or the Drift Bike Liner.

The Urban chamois in the Universal Bike Liner Plus is Terry's compact, low-bulk pad. It's a seamless chamois with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology made in Italy, using multi-density foam padding for cushioning without extra thickness. It's shaped shorter front to back specifically for an upright, commuter-style riding position, and the light microfiber fabric reduces bulk at the inner thigh to help avoid chafing. This design keeps the liner discreet enough to wear comfortably under your regular clothing.

The Universal Bike Liner Plus is best for riders who want chamois comfort in a plus-size fit while keeping their own skirts, dresses, or unpadded shorts. It suits an upright, commuter-style riding position and casual rides of a couple hours. It's also a good choice for riders who find a fully padded performance chamois too bulky, since the Urban chamois is deliberately compact. If you want functional bikewear without committing to a fitted cycling short, this liner fills that gap.

The Universal Bike Liner Plus offers minimal compression. It's designed around comfort and freedom of movement rather than muscular support, which fits its purpose as a padded layer worn under everyday clothing. If you're after compression to support longer or more demanding rides, this liner isn't built for that role. Riders who want more substantial support along with a heavier chamois for multi-hour rides may prefer stepping up to the Aria Liner or Drift Bike Liner instead.

The Universal Bike Liner Plus has a mid-length 6.5 inch inseam with gentle elastic waist and leg bands. That length gives enough coverage to stay in place during a ride without adding bulk under skirts, dresses, or shorts. The soft elastic avoids digging in so the liner stays comfortable worn against the skin. If you'd prefer a shorter cut in the same Urban-chamois family, the Universal 5 inch Bike Liner offers a 5 inch inseam alternative.

Choose differently when your needs outgrow casual, upright riding. If you regularly ride multiple hours and want a more substantial chamois, the Aria Liner or Drift Bike Liner offer more support. If you want the most minimal, lowest-profile coverage in the liner range, the Cyclo Brief 2.0 Bike Liner fits that. If you prefer a shorter cut in the same Urban-chamois family, consider the Universal 5 inch Bike Liner. And if you need standard rather than plus sizing, the Universal Bike Liner is the match.

The Universal Bike Liner Plus is shaped for an upright, commuter-style position, with an Urban chamois cut shorter front to back for sitting more upright on the saddle. Riders in a more forward or aggressive posture, where more of the pad needs to sit toward the front, tend to find this chamois less ideal. If your riding leans into that performance position and longer distances, a liner with a fuller chamois such as the Aria Liner or Drift Bike Liner will serve you better.
