product care
Remove your tights and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Cold weather tights

"The tights kept me warm in 55° temperature. However, I flounder myself constantly having to adjust the fit because while the leg length was just right (I'm 5'1") as well as the waist, the fit at the crotch was off. The chamois was too big which did not allow the padding to stay in place during the ride."

so warm!

"I love these tights! I have been out mountain and road biking in them this winter already, and they have kept me toasty warm. Temps were in the high 20s and low 30s. I absolutely hate the cold, and these made the ride enjoyable."

Nice pants

"Just a bit too large. Hard to understand the sizes sometimes. They differ from one company to the next."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

No. The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE includes an integrated Active 2.0 seat pad with adaptive foam density, so it works as an all-in-one solution worn directly against the skin. You don't need to layer it over a separate pair of chamois shorts. This suits cool-weather riders who want simplicity on the bike — one garment that delivers both thermal coverage and seated comfort, rather than managing two layers and the extra bulk that comes with doubling up.

The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE is built with recycled thermal fleece for targeted insulation, making it well matched to fall and cool-season riding when temperatures drop below shorts weather. It delivers cozy warmth through gentle compression without restricting movement. If most of your riding happens in genuinely sub-freezing or deep-winter conditions, a heavier winter-weight tight such as the Winter Bike Tight will provide more protection than this cool-weather thermal layer.

The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE is a thermal fleece tight, not a weather-barrier garment. It includes reflective details for added visibility in low light, but it is not designed to block wind or sustained rain. If you ride regularly in wet conditions and need waterproof leg coverage, the Lupra GORE-TEX Bike Pant is built for rain riding. For cool-weather riding in dry conditions, the Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight's fleece insulation is its core strength.

The Active 2.0 seat pad in the Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE is rated for short to mid-distance rides, so it's a comfortable choice for regular cool-weather outings. Riders logging long endurance days or multi-day touring tend to want a touring-grade chamois built for extended time in the saddle. If your rides are stretching longer and you want more seated support, the Coolweather Tour Bike Tight offers a touring chamois designed for those distances.

The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE has a built-in Active 2.0 chamois, so it's designed to be worn on its own rather than over existing shorts. If you already have padded shorts you like and simply want a thermal outer layer to add warmth, a padless option like the Padless Winter Bike Tight is the better fit — it provides cool-weather coverage without a redundant chamois. The Swiftride Thermo earns its place when you want one complete garment instead of layering.

The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE is built for cooler-weather riding, using recycled thermal fleece for insulation — it would run too warm for hot-weather use. If you want full leg coverage in warm conditions for UV protection, the Soleil Bike Tight is the better match; it's a lightweight, UPF-rated tight made for sun protection rather than warmth. Choose the Swiftride Thermo when temperatures have dropped and you want cozy coverage on the bike.

The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE offers moderate, gentle compression paired with pre-shaped knees and a high waist for a sleek performance fit. The compression is supportive enough to feel secure and help the fleece trap warmth, but it allows full freedom of movement rather than feeling restrictive. This suits riders who want a performance silhouette and light muscle support without the firm squeeze of a high-compression racing tight.

The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE is a full-length tight with a 29-inch inseam in size small, a high waist, and zipperless ankle openings for easy on and off. The high waist stays put in the riding position and the pre-shaped knees follow the pedal stroke, so the fleece coverage stays smooth without bunching. If you prefer coverage that stops at the knee rather than the ankle, a cool-weather Coolweather Knicker may suit you better.

Yes. The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE includes reflective details that improve your visibility to drivers during dim fall and cool-season rides, when daylight hours shrink. Keep in mind this visibility feature is part of a thermal fleece tight — it adds warmth and reflectivity, but it is not a windproof or waterproof layer. For riders tackling wind or rain alongside low light, a dedicated weather-protection garment would be a better companion.

The Swiftride Thermo Bike Tight from GORE is best for cool-weather riders who want an all-in-one tight with a built-in chamois rather than layering over shorts, typically on short to mid-distance rides. Its recycled thermal fleece appeals to eco-conscious shoppers, and the moderate compression with a high-waist performance fit suits those who want support without restriction. It's less ideal for warm-weather sun protection, sub-freezing conditions, sustained rain, or long endurance distances, where a more specialized tight would serve you better.
