"Poor quality lenses over all and reader window too small to be of use."

Love my Veloce Reader Sunglasses

"Finally! Cycling sunglasses with reading correction so I can see my computer and my watch!! I paid a lot more than this to get various brands like Oakley with prescription readers. This takes care of that for way less and they actually fit my face. Love Terry for carrying these."

Reader sunglasses are nice

"Never realized how much time I spent squinting to view my bike computer or phone. The built in reading glasses are really helpful. Nice pair of sunglasses with nose piece adjustment."

Not as described'

"These Tifosi Veloce glasses were not as described. They are readers but do not have fototec (photochromic) capability as stated on the website. Tifosi has manufactured both with and without FC for this line. After having checked online, the $50 price is in line with other vendors for the bifocal style without photochromic capability. I used them one time. I would return them but I lost them 10 miles into a 43 mile ride. I took them off and hooked them on my jersey because they fogged up so badly. I have a fellow rider with the same glasses but with photochromic capability and his fog up too."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses are built for exactly this. If you find yourself pulling off your shades to read a GPS unit, cyclocomputer, or text message, the Veloce Reader solves it with a magnified +2.0 bifocal area built directly into the lens. That reading zone is the defining feature of this pair, letting you glance down at your numbers or your phone up close while keeping your sunglasses on. It's designed for riders who need close-up clarity without carrying a second pair.

The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses are for riders who need reading magnification while they ride. If you rely on reading glasses to see a GPS, cyclocomputer, or phone screen clearly, the Veloce Reader builds a magnified +2.0 bifocal area into a performance sunglass so you don't have to choose between seeing the road and seeing your data. They also suit riders who move between sun and shade, since the Fototec lens adapts automatically. Riders without a close-up vision need won't use the reader feature and should consider a standard Fototec pair instead.

The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses use Fototec photochromic lenses that darken as the surrounding light gets brighter and lighten as it dims. This matters on rides where you pass from open sun into tree cover, tunnels, or overcast stretches, because you don't need to stop and swap glasses. The lens adjusts on its own while you keep riding. Combined with the built-in +2.0 reading area, the Veloce Reader gives you one adaptive lens that handles both variable daylight and close-up reading in a single pair.

The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses are not polarized. They use Fototec light-adaptive technology, which manages overall brightness by darkening and lightening the lens, rather than cutting glare bouncing off pavement or water. If your main frustration is harsh reflected glare, a light-adaptive tint won't address it the way polarization does. For dedicated glare reduction, consider the Sanctum SL Polarized Sunglasses instead. Choose the Veloce Reader when your priorities are reading magnification and automatic adjustment to changing daylight.

If you don't need close-up magnification, the +2.0 bifocal area in the Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses is a feature you'd never use. Riders who want the same Fototec light-adaptive performance without a reader insert are better served by the Moab Lite Fototec Sunglasses or the Stash Bike Sunglasses, which offer the adaptive lens in a cleaner, single-function design. Choose the Veloce Reader only when reading a GPS, cyclocomputer, or phone up close without swapping glasses is genuinely part of your ride.

The difference comes down to what you're managing. The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses pair Fototec light-adaptive tint with a built-in +2.0 reading magnifier, so they're ideal when you want automatic light adjustment plus close-up readability. The Sanctum SL Polarized Sunglasses instead specialize in cutting glare off reflective surfaces like wet pavement or water, which Fototec does not do. If reading your data up close matters most, choose the Veloce Reader. If reflected glare is your main complaint, the Sanctum SL is the better match.

The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses suit a wide range of outdoor activities, not just one discipline. The vented half-frame styling helps keep the lenses fog-free, and the Grilamid TR-90 frame is lightweight and durable, resisting chemical and UV damage. That versatility makes them practical for road riding, gravel, and other outdoor pursuits where you want light-adaptive lenses and the ability to read small screens up close. If you need interchangeable lenses for very specific conditions, the Veloce Reader's single dual-function lens may feel limiting.

The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses are a specialized dual-function pair, combining Fototec adaptation with a +2.0 bifocal reading area. If you want a more straightforward option without magnification, riders who still want light-adaptive Fototec performance but no reader insert should look at the Moab Lite Fototec Sunglasses or the Stash Bike Sunglasses. The Veloce Reader earns its place specifically when reading up close while riding is a real need for you.

The Veloce Reader Cycling Sunglasses weigh 28 grams, built on a Grilamid TR-90 frame that is engineered to be incredibly lightweight and durable. On longer rides, that low weight keeps them from pressing on your nose or ears over time, and the vented half-frame styling helps prevent fogging as your effort and pace change. The polycarbonate lenses are strong, scratch resistant, and shatterproof, so the Veloce Reader holds up to regular use while keeping both the light-adaptive and reading functions comfortable to wear for hours.
