Description
If you're a serious rider who spends a lot of time in the saddle, goes on tours, likes gravel or simply wants the best with more coverage than a short and less heat than a tight, then the Grand Tour Knicker was made for you. Filled with features like touring pockets and a more padded chamois, it's also made of Polartec's tri-blended Powerstretch fabric which dries super quickly and fits beautifully. Designed with all-day comfort in mind, the waistband is elastic free and bonded to reduce seaming against your front waist. The leg bands, too, are designed without a high degree of restriction, instead using stitchless hypoallergenic gripper tape on the inside of the leg hem to keep things gently in place. Extended 18.5 inch inseam adds coverage to protect you from the elements.

product care
Remove your shorts and launder ASAP for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Close all zippers before washing. Machine wash only in cold water (60 degrees max). Use neutral non-aggressive detergents and keep like colors together. Do not use bleach or softeners. Hang or lay out to dry, do not tumble dry. Do not iron or dry clean. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

AAAHHH What Comfort For Those Longer Rides!

"Love this knicker. Well worth the price. The fabric is silky smooth and flexible. I really appreciate the tour chamois as I am getting older. It really gives me the comfort I need for longer and bumpier (gravel trail) rides. The leg grips are very comfortable. I prefer a higher rise and this meets that preference...not to mention how comfortable the waste is (it allows for that extra chocolate croissant). I like just that little extra leg length so with longer socks my legs are protected from the cold."

Stretchy

"I couldn't tell which knicker I wanted - option overload for me. I settled on the Grand Tour. The fabric is super soft but also VERY STRETCHY. I'm usually a medium in clothes but large in cycling clothing. I bought the medium, and you could put a whole second person in there with me. They're also quite long. I should have paid more attention to the fact that they're 1. 5 inches longer than other styes."

Comfy knickers

"Great fit, comfortable waist, perfect Length, feels secure around knees."

4 Stars for the first pair, not the second

"Im 6 feet tall, 150 pounder. Bought large. I bought a pair of these knickers a month ago. They are pretty awesome. Then i ordered a second pair a month later. TERRY why did you change them?? 1st pair had a mesh pocket and made in China. 2nd pair has fabric pocket, 1st pair fit a bit loose but im ok with that. I don't need a second skin. The second pair is not cut the same. They fit tighter, and the chamois goes up higher in the front. Almost too high. You eliminated the hem at the knee area. Why oh why?? For $160 the knee seems like it is going to stretch out fast with no hem. Then stay stretched out. Seems like they were cheapened up. 2nd pair made in El Salvador. I'll never understand why companies make a great product then go cheapskate on it. Losing the hem does not improve these knickers. I wanted a dozen pair after i got the 1st ones. Not so much now."

"Great fit. Comfortable and love the side pocket"

My favorite ones

"I have four different versions of Terry knickers and these are my favorites. They have a super comfy waistband that allows for my compression-sensitive belly, extra cushiony chamois, and deep thigh pockets."

— Jennifer S. (5/5)

Like the Grand Tour Bike Knicker

"Worn and washed twice now. Medium fit is good for me at 135 lbs. Comfortable cycling, doesn't leave seam indentations on my legs like others. I was leary about the lower leg band holding in place and holding up in the wash, but it has done well and is so much more comfortable than my old Terry knickers. I am planning to buy another pair."

— Linda P. (5/5)

Great knicker

"Great knicker"

Awesome

"I wanted to give some time before writing a review and get a variety of rides in. My conclusion? These are the best bike shorts/pants I’ve ever owned. The material is breathable and not constricting. The padding is comfortable, even for long rides and is not too bulky. I’m glad it has pockets. Honestly, I don’t understand bike shorts that don’t have pockets. I’m still a little weary about the mesh pocket but it holds my phone securely and seems to be holding up to wear and tear. I’ll definitely be buying another pair…maybe the new gravel shorts if they go on sale."

pad not as thick as

"pad not as thick as hoped for long day in saddle do not care for finish on material , sizing ok"

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Grand Tour Bike Knicker was built specifically for serious riders who spend a lot of time in the saddle, go on tours, or ride gravel. Its highly padded Flex Air Tour chamois adds 14 percent more foam for endurance riding, and its fast-drying Polartec Powerstretch tri-blend fabric handles long, varied days well. If most of your riding involves long distances, multi-day routes, or mixed surfaces, the Grand Tour Bike Knicker earns its place as a touring-grade bottom rather than a short, casual-ride option.

The Grand Tour Bike Knicker uses Terry's Flex Air Tour chamois, which takes the women's-specific Flex Air shape and adds 14 percent more foam for endurance riding. It's a seamless chamois with 4-way stretch Elastic Interface Technology for freedom of movement, multi-level perforated foam for breathability, and soft wing construction that reduces bulk at the inner thigh to avoid chafing. For riders logging long saddle time on tours or gravel, that extra padding and women's-specific construction is what keeps the Grand Tour Bike Knicker comfortable hour after hour.

The Grand Tour Bike Knicker suits riders who want more coverage than a short without the heat of a full tight. Its extended 18.5 inch inseam adds protection from the elements on long days, while the Polartec Powerstretch tri-blend fabric stays cooler and dries quickly compared to a tight. If you want leg coverage for cooler mornings, sun protection, or shoulder-season rides but don't want to overheat, the Grand Tour Bike Knicker hits that middle ground deliberately.

Yes. The Grand Tour Bike Knicker includes two on-leg touring pockets: one drop-in leg pocket for quick-access items and one zippered leg pocket for secure smartphone storage. That carry capacity is part of why this knicker is positioned for touring and long saddle time rather than casual rides. If you want your essentials within reach without a jersey or pack, the Grand Tour Bike Knicker's leg pockets are a meaningful part of its touring design.

The Grand Tour Bike Knicker is designed with all-day comfort in mind. The waistband is elastic free and bonded to reduce seaming against your front waist, and the leg bands avoid a tight elastic grip, instead using stitchless hypoallergenic gripper tape on the inside of the leg hem to hold gently in place. For riders sensitive to leg-band irritation or anyone spending hours in the saddle, these details on the Grand Tour Bike Knicker reduce the pressure points that tend to show up over long distances.

The Grand Tour Bike Knicker uses a moderately compressive, fast-drying tri-blend Polartec Powerstretch fabric aimed at long-day performance. That moderate compression offers muscle support without the firm hold of a high-compression race bottom. If you prefer a snug, gentle hold that fits beautifully for hours of touring or gravel, the Grand Tour Bike Knicker suits you. Riders who want minimal, barely-there compression may find it firmer than they'd like, and should look at a lighter-compression knicker instead.

The Grand Tour Bike Knicker is purpose-built for touring, gravel, and long saddle time, so it's less ideal for short, casual rides with no pocket or touring needs. Its touring-grade chamois, moderate compression, and two leg pockets add features a fitness or commute rider may not use. If you want a simpler, entry-level knicker for moderate riding, the Actif Bike Knicker is a better match. If you want minimal compression for lighter outings, a lower-feature knicker will serve you more naturally.

If you want the same touring-grade Flex Air Tour chamois and extended coverage but don't need the Grand Tour Bike Knicker's two on-leg pockets, consider the Bike Knicker. It carries the same touring-grade chamois support in a simpler, lower-feature package. The pockets are the main thing that distinguishes the Grand Tour Bike Knicker, so if touring carry isn't a priority for you, the Bike Knicker gives you the chamois comfort without features you won't use.

The Grand Tour Bike Knicker uses the touring-grade Flex Air Tour chamois, which adds extra foam for endurance riding. If you're a performance-oriented rider who wants the highest chamois tier available in a knicker along with firmer compression, the Bella Prima Bike Knicker steps up to the Flex Air Carbon chamois and high-compression French nylon fabric. Riders focused on long touring comfort tend to stay with the Grand Tour Bike Knicker, while those chasing maximum performance and compression gravitate toward the Bella Prima Bike Knicker.
