Reviews

Good choice

"Easy one & off when taking it to the gym. Gel works comfortably."

— Malika W. (5/5)

Helps with Indoor Cycling

"I love my Terry seat outside, but once on my trainer I needed something more, ahem, protective of the lady parts. This cover helps significantly."

— Vanessa H. (4/5)

Works great!

"Excellent! Added padding really helps. I am petite 105lbs, The plain saddle was really causing pain before adding the gel saddle cover."

— Cindy M. (5/5)

Gel seat cover should be shipped in a box

"I ordered the 1st gel seat cover for errands and shorter rides when I would not wear padded bike shorts. I liked the idea of the split seat to take pressure off tender tissue. When it arrived it had 2 deep, angled indentations about a thumbs'width on one side, right where I need the support, so after the gel. didnt recover to normal shape in a week, I sent it back for a replacement. The 2nd one arrived with 1 such indentation in the same place. I had prepared to return that one as well, not attempting another replacement, as the Terry rep said if it was happening in transit (it's shipped in a plastic bag vs a box, so heavy boxes on top of it could perhaps have caused it), she couldn't promise it wouldnt happen again, though insisted there had been no other such complaints. I decided to keep the 2nd one since the defect wasn't as bad and I'm not using it for long rides, but I wonder if the time/hassle/damage could have been avoided if shipped in a box vs a bag."

Saddle Gel Cover

"It has added comfort to my rides. Wish it was possible to cinch it more securely. It does shift slightly during single track MTB rides. The string is really long so make sure to secure it. I have trimmed mine because it works itself loose."

— Barb K. (4/5)

Gel seat cover

"The Terry gel seat cover is definitely helpful but, unfortunately, it did not meet the overall need of comfort in riding.....I probably need to investigate a completely new saddle. I appreciate all of the assistance I received from the Terry bike company...super helpful people!"

— Mary M. (4/5)

Just what you need!

"If you ever spontaneously grab your bike and ride without changing into bike shorts, you need this seat cover. Your bike seat wears the chamois, not you."

— Patti C. (5/5)

Great!

"I had some minor surgery so I needed my bike seat to be more padded, temporarily. This seat cover is the answer. It doesn't slip. Much to my surprise it stays perfectly in place."

— Liz M. (5/5)

It's a very good cover

"It's a very good cover if you can get a tight fit on the saddle. I was using an e-bike and the seat post did not allow for a tight fit. I used it for a couple days anyway (bad decision!) but developed terrible saddle sores. On my own bike at home I could get a tighter fit but still not as tight as I would have liked."

— Meredith M. (4/5)

Very disappointed

"I can't enjoy my seat cover. I've not received it I've already been charged twice for something I don't have. I haven't seen my next bank statement. There may be more charge for the seat cover I haven't received."

— Debra P. (1/5)

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Terry Saddle Gel Cover is an add-on comfort layer, not a replacement saddle. It ties on over whatever saddle is already on your bike, layering gel cushioning and pressure relief on top. That makes it the right choice when you can't or don't want to swap the saddle itself, like a stock seat you'd rather not remove. If your goal is to replace the saddle entirely, a dedicated Terry saddle chosen for your riding style is the better path than a cover.

Yes, the Terry Saddle Gel Cover is well suited to gym exercise bikes, spin classes, and rental bikes where you can't swap the saddle out. Those stock seats are often hard and uncomfortable, and the cover ties right on over them, adding a semi-fluid polymer gel insert that distributes pressure. Because it uses a tie tether rather than tools or adhesive, you can move it between machines or pack it in a bag easily, turning a bad borrowed saddle into something you can actually sit on.

The Terry Saddle Gel Cover fits standard bike seats up to 7 inches wide and 10 inches long, securing with a tie tether rather than adhesive or Velcro. Before buying, measure your saddle against those dimensions, especially if it's unusually wide, long, or narrow. The cover itself measures 264mm by 160mm. Riders whose saddle falls within that size range get a secure fit; those with an oversized or atypical saddle should confirm the measurements first to avoid a poor fit.

The Terry Saddle Gel Cover uses a gel insert made of a semi-fluid polymer that supports and distributes pressure across the seat. Its contoured shape includes a center depression positioned for pressure relief against the soft tissue area, which is where many riders feel the worst discomfort on a hard saddle. That combination softens the contact a firm or poorly shaped saddle creates, making the Terry Saddle Gel Cover a practical fix for riders who need more cushioning without changing the saddle itself.

The Terry Saddle Gel Cover is best for riders dealing with an uncomfortable saddle they can't or don't want to replace. That includes gym and exercise bike users with hard stock seats, people on rental, spin, or borrowed bikes where swapping isn't an option, and anyone wanting a low-cost, no-tools comfort fix. As long as your saddle falls within 7 inches wide by 10 inches long, the Terry Saddle Gel Cover adds gel cushioning and pressure relief quickly and without any permanent change to your setup.

The Terry Saddle Gel Cover is lightweight at about 196 grams, roughly 6.9 ounces, and attaches with a tie tether rather than tools or adhesive. That makes it easy to pack in a gym bag, carry on the road, or swap between bikes and exercise machines. Riders who split time between a home bike, the gym, and a spin studio can bring their own cushioning along instead of being stuck with whatever saddle is there. It ties on and off without removing the saddle.

The Terry Saddle Gel Cover is an add-on fix, so it isn't the right answer for every discomfort. If your saddle exceeds 7 inches wide or 10 inches long, if your pain comes from riding position or bike geometry rather than cushioning, or if you simply want a saddle that fits your body long term, a cover won't solve the root issue. In those cases, choosing a dedicated Terry saddle matched to your riding style, whether recreational, touring, or performance, is the better investment than the Saddle Gel Cover.

The Terry Saddle Gel Cover addresses discomfort that comes from a hard or poorly cushioned saddle, using its gel insert and contoured center depression to relieve pressure on soft tissue. It isn't designed to correct pain that stems from your riding position, saddle width mismatch, or bike fit. If adding cushioning doesn't resolve the issue, the problem is likely geometry rather than padding, and a saddle properly sized to your body and riding style will serve you better than the Terry Saddle Gel Cover.
