product care
Remove your tights and launder asap for best results as residual sweat may damage the chamois. Wash only in delicate cycle at 86 degrees. Use neutral non-aggressive detergents, keep like colors together and avoid dryers. If you use chamois butter/cream, your garment's ability to wick moisture will be greatly reduced and the durability of your chamois may be compromised. Note: we recommend that you wash new bottoms prior to use.

Good pants could be more versatile

"Great fabric and fit. Very narrow cuffs. If they had a zipper and/or gusset at the ankle they would be great pants for other things like xc Skiing."

Q&A

Questions & Answers

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant is sold without a padded liner, so it does not include a built-in chamois. It's designed to be worn over your own padded cycling shorts or a separate liner, which supply the on-bike comfort. This makes the Diversion flexible if you already own padded shorts you like, but if you specifically want all-in-one chamois comfort for cool-weather riding, the Coolweather Bike Tight, which includes a chamois, is a better match.

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant is a temperature-regulating trail pant rather than a dedicated winter garment. Its Merino wool blend naturally manages a moderate temperature range and wicks moisture during exertion, making it well suited to shoulder-season and variable trail conditions. It is not fleece-lined or sub-freezing rated. If you ride in genuinely cold conditions and want thermal insulation with a chamois included, consider the Thermal Bike Tight or Winter Bike Tight instead.

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant suits trail and MTB riders who want full-leg coverage with a relaxed, casual aesthetic rather than a race-cut cycling silhouette. The 29-inch inseam, tapered ankle cuffs, and knee-pad-compatible fit are built for off-road movement and getting on and off the bike. Its Merino wool blend adds natural odor control and durability, which makes it especially good for multi-activity days that combine riding with hiking and adventuring. Riders who already own padded shorts to wear underneath get the most from it.

Yes, the Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant is designed with a knee-pad-compatible on-bike fit, which makes it a strong option for MTB and technical trail riding where protection matters. The standard fit never sags or restricts, thanks to the natural strength of the Merino wool, so pads sit comfortably underneath without the pant bunching or binding as you move through the terrain. The tapered ankle cuffs also help keep the fabric clear of your drivetrain and chain.

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant is built around Merino wool, which regulates temperature across a moderate range, wicks moisture during exertion, and resists odor naturally through repeated wear. That combination makes it well suited to riders doing multi-activity days where they're riding, hiking, and adventuring in variable conditions and can't change outfits between activities. The durable nylon in the blend stands up to repeated trail use. If you want a compressive performance cycling fit instead, a dedicated road tight will serve you better.

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant handles longer multi-activity days well in terms of durability and odor control, since the Merino blend resists odor through repeated wear and the nylon stands up to trail use. Comfort over distance, however, depends on the padded shorts or liner you wear underneath, because the Diversion itself is sold without a chamois. If you want built-in padding engineered for distance comfort, a chamois-equipped option such as the Coolweather Tour Bike Tight is a better fit for sustained saddle time.

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant is a trail-oriented pant with a relaxed standard fit, not a compressive performance cycling tight. It's designed for off-road and off-bike movement with a casual aesthetic rather than a race silhouette, and it has no built-in chamois. If your riding is road-focused and you want a compressive cut with a chamois included, a performance cool-weather option like the Breakaway Bike Tight will suit that purpose far better.

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant is a Merino-blend trail pant built for temperature regulation and moisture wicking, not a waterproof garment, so it won't protect you in sustained rain. The Merino blend manages exertion-based moisture from the inside but isn't designed to block weather from the outside. If you need genuine waterproof leg coverage for riding in persistent wet conditions, the Lupra GORE-TEX Bike Pant is the appropriate choice for that kind of weather protection.

The Diversion Merino Trail Bike Pant benefits from the natural odor control of its Merino wool blend, which means it can go multiple wears between washes during trail and multi-activity days without holding odor. The Merino and nylon construction is built for durability through repeated wear. As with most Merino garments, gentle washing and air drying help preserve the fibers and maintain the pant's temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking performance over time.
